The Pink Plate Introduction

I came up with the idea of The Pink Plate in 2016. Coming from the service industry I've had a passion for cooking and entertaining but I also wanted to represent female chefs who inspire me. Women like Alex Guarnaschelli, Elizabeth Falkner and Nancy Silverton have inspired me to be broaden my culinary skill.

Recently, I’ve focused on Vegan and Vegetarian food. For a few years I’ve adapted to a plant-based diet which inspired me to cook for those who want to experience something other than “Rabbit Food” and broaden food options for vegan/vegetarian folks!

I’ve always been interested in opening people’s pallets and helping them to explore different flavors and textures. Most of all I'm inspired by women who have heavily influenced my life such as my mother and grandmother. They've always had jobs that are considered "pink collar" jobs (jobs that were typically held by women or are viewed as women’s work). Women who work these jobs aren't really represented well and are not as respected the way they should be. Instead of working under someone, I wanted to start my own business. I want to represent the strength, drive and hustle of phenomenal women.
